Your browser can install Taskly directly. One click, then confirm – done.
What do you get from Taskly as an app?
- Its own icon: Taskly sits on your home screen, in the dock or in the taskbar – open with one tap, no typing in an address.
- Full screen: no address bar, no tabs – more room for the work order, especially on tablets and phones.
- No app store: installed in two steps. It's the same Taskly as in the browser, with the same data and no extra cost (Pricing).
- Always up to date: updates arrive automatically – when Taskly shows “New version”, tap “Reload”.
Android: Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet
- Open trytaskly.com/app and log in.
- In Taskly, tap “Install app” – in the menu on the left or in the notice at the top. Or in the browser: menu at the top right → “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
- Confirm with “Install”. Taskly is now on your home screen and among your apps.
With Firefox on Android it works the same way: menu ⋮ → “Install” or “Add to Home screen”.
iPhone and iPad: Safari
- Open trytaskly.com/app in Safari.
- Tap “Share” – the square with the arrow pointing up. On the iPhone it's at the bottom, on the iPad at the top right. If you can't see it, tap “•••” first.
- Choose “Add to Home Screen” (you may need to scroll down a little) and tap “Add”.
Using Chrome or Firefox on the iPhone? It works most reliably in Safari: copy the address, open it in Safari, then as above. In newer iOS versions it often also works via “Share” in the respective browser.
Windows, Mac and Linux: Chrome or Edge
- Open trytaskly.com/app in Chrome or Edge.
- Click the “Install” icon on the right of the address bar – or “Install app” in the menu on the left in Taskly.
- Confirm with “Install”. Taskly opens in its own window and appears in the Start menu, taskbar or dock.
No icon in the address bar? In Edge: menu “…” → “Apps” → “Install Taskly”. In Chrome: menu “⋮” → “Cast, save and share” → “Install page as app …”.
Mac: Safari
- Open trytaskly.com/app in Safari (macOS Sonoma or later).
- In the menu bar at the top, choose “File” → “Add to Dock …”.
- Click “Add”. Taskly is now in the dock and opens in its own window.
Firefox on a computer
Firefox can't install web apps on a computer. Open Taskly in Chrome or Edge instead – or create a bookmark in Firefox.
Good to know
- The same data: the app and the browser show the same workspace. Whatever you save in the app, you see on the PC straight away – and vice versa.
- Internet required: without a connection the app shows a notice and carries on as soon as the device is back online.
- Logging in: on iPhone and iPad you log in once more in the app – Safari and home-screen apps don't share the login.
- Removing: like any other app – on a phone, press and hold the icon and remove it; on a PC, in the app window via the menu “⋮” or “…” → “Uninstall”.
App FAQ
Does the app cost extra?
No. The app is the same Taskly as in the browser – with all your account's features and the same data. There are no separate costs and no purchase in an app store; what Taskly costs is under Pricing.
Do I need an app store or an Apple or Google account?
No. It installs directly from the browser – no App Store, no Google Play and no account there. All you need is your Taskly account.
Does the app work without the internet?
No. Taskly needs an internet connection to load and save – just like in the browser. If the connection drops, the app shows the notice “No internet connection” and carries on as soon as your device is back online. A new work order you're filling in stays on the device as a draft.
How does the app get updates?
Automatically. The app loads Taskly fresh from the server every time it starts. If a new version arrives while Taskly is open, “A new version of Taskly is available” appears at the bottom – one tap on “Reload” is enough.
Can several employees use the app?
Yes. Everyone installs Taskly on their own device and logs in with their own login. On a shared tablet at the counter one installation is enough – whoever logged in last is logged in.
What does the app store on my device?
Only what the app itself needs: the fonts and the “No internet connection” page in the browser cache, plus a flag noting whether Taskly is installed on this device. The app doesn't store work orders, customer data or login details there. Details under Cookies & storage.
